Our on-site accommodation allows you to spend more quality time with your guests, extending the celebration and creating lasting memories. Plus as the lucky couple, you get to stay in our secluded Riverside Retreat and enjoy the outdoor bath and campfire!

Tying the knot is a super special occasion and it takes a lot of effort for your guests to travel from afar; so you’ll have access to the venue and accommodation starting from the day before your wedding until the morning after. Choose between exchanging vows in our native gardens alongside tui and kereru or enjoy the cosy ambiance inside by the grand open fireplace. After the ceremony, toast with champagne and enjoy delicious canapes.
Easy On-Site Catering & Licensed Bar
We do it all, saving you from having to liaise with multiple vendors. We offer a delicious collection of buffet menu choices, made with fresh ingredients from our garden and local meats. Our staffed character bar stocks over 100 types of beverages with beer, wine, spirits, RTDs, and non-alcoholic options, ensuring everyone can enjoy their favourite tipple. An amount of BYO wine is allowed so you can enjoy your preferred drop.
Walk-in, Walk-out with a Gorgeous Wedding Reception
Our equipment will be set-up and ready for your arrival, just add a touch of your decor to create your desired look. The beautiful wedding reception space accommodates 110 guests and connects to the outdoor ceremony area.
We take care of those little details such as vases for bridal flowers, background music, lighting candles, and dimming the lights for your first dance. When it is time to dance the night away, being a true country wedding venue you do not need to worry about noise infringements!
Relax with On-site Accommodation
By choosing Makoura Lodge as your wedding venue you will gain exclusive access to all our accommodation options, ensuring everyone stays close. We can accommodate 52 guests plus offer unlimited camping. Newlyweds have the option to stay in the secluded Riverside Retreat, which includes the relaxing outdoor bathtub.
Savour Time Together with a Country Buffet Breakfast
Reminisce with your guests the next morning over a delicious cooked breakfast and barista coffee. The beauty of our walk-in walk-out venue is that the Makoura team will take care of the clean-up, and all you need to do is take your décor home.. We have a leisurely check-out time of 11 am so you can continue to enjoy your weekend wedding celebration.

Intimate Weddings & Off-Season Wedding Packages
Take advantage of our off-season or Wednesday country weddings with reduced rates. Additionally, there are no minimum guest numbers so you can enjoy an intimate, boutique-style wedding. The cosy open fire creates a beautiful ambience in the cooler months.
